Earlier this month, Elon Musk did a bizarre dance (?) that’s lodged itself like a parasite in the brains of those who’ve seen it. The move looks like this:

Now, as a fellow white nerd, I can’t shit on someone *too* hard for dancing poorly. Let’s be honest, the fact that a man so computer-addicted has any coordination at all is a relative miracle.

However, this, whatever you want to call it, is just strange. It looks like a beta version of a Fortnite dance, with Musk extending his arms into the air and jumping while his head wobbles like a toddler whose neck muscles haven’t developed yet. He then follows this up with a confused two-step, twisting his arms robotically as if to convince the audience that he’s not a puppet and, in fact, a real boy.

Musk dancing poorly is not new, as he had previously whipped out some uncomfortable maneuvers at an event in China in 2020. But while the 2020 dance was almost endearing, this X-shaped jump (get it? Like his company???) is off-putting — and to make matters worse, he can’t stop doing it.

At a recent event, an audience member prompted Musk to do the “jump” again. Musk appears to be wearing a backwards T-shirt here, but that’s not really relevant. What’s more important is that he obliges, dabbing on the haters by doing the “jump” and laughing.

I don’t really know what else to say about this besides just wishing he’d stop, so instead, I’m going to respond like Musk does whenever he sees someone post fake FBI crime statistics and simply say, ”Interesting.”
