Though a hammered Houston driver may have stayed off the road in their intoxicated state, they evidently forgot about the sidewalk, nearly bulldozing several pedestrians enjoying a night out.

On Wednesday evening, a tipsy driver accidentally found themselves plowing through the sidewalk, a lone metal planter preventing them from flattening the patio of a local business.

Lamenting in almost real-time about how the “drunk af” driver ruined his evening.

“What a time to be alive,” Redditor u/theinfamousches captioned their video of the “drunk af” driver on r/PublicFreakout, adding that they were “less than 5 inches away from hitting a guy walking down the street.”

Though it's unclear what, exactly happened to the driver after they were apprehended by local authorities, one thing is certain: To paraphrase u/iimitation_crab_meat we are most definitely “surprised to see downtown so lively after 6 p.m.”
