There’s nothing quite like trying a new food for the first time. That’s why this recent video from TikToer @crazykoreancooking is such a beautiful sight to behold.

In a clip with more than 6.5 million views, Grace from @crazykoreancooking makes her parents “Soul Food” — in her words, “collard greens with ham hocks, fried catfish, fried okra with remoulade sauce, candied sweet potatoes, cornbread with honey butter and hibiscus tea.”

So did her parents love it? Absolutely. Over the course of the video, you can see their faces light up with every bite and occasionally hear them make comparisons to dishes that are common in Korean cuisine.

Grace later posted a longer version of the video on YouTube, where it’s amassed over 122,000 views.

In response, many TikTokers hopped onto the platform to make jokes about — and voice their support for — Grace’s efforts. “The way that (Grace’s mother) scooped up that yam sauce… and poured it across that cornbread, I’ve never been more out-Blacked in my life,” wrote Big Mell (@sleevedandrelieved). “Because why have I never thought to f****** do that?”

The use of yam syrup on cornbread was a much-beloved revelation, with other TikTokers quickly voicing their support of the move. “She’s a motherf***ing genius,” said Robyn (/@itsrobyn__) in a response video.
