A new frontier in the ongoing battle of the sexes has emerged, and it’s a doozy. Jack Mac of Barstool Sports uploaded a video about the fact that despite it being the year of our lord 2023, “women still own TVs that are shockingly small.”

He opens the video with, “Woman will spend thousands upon thousands of dollars on stuff I’ll never understand, and then you’ll walk into their house and they have a TV made for ants.”
He continues, “It is the year 2023 — TVs cost zero dollars these days; they’re giving away TVs. Woman will still gather around a TV made for ants and watch a show altogether, five, six, seven, eight of them for hours upon hours. Nineteen girls in a sorority will gather around and watch The Bachelor on this little TV.”
Mac argues that this is universal for women under the age of “35 or so,” and the comments and stitches are proving him right. One TikToker, Annie, stitched the video and turned it back around on men, asking why they’re so obsessed with having huge TVs. In her stitch, she says, “Every time a guy comes into our apartment he’s like, ‘Do you want a new TV?’ No! I like my TV!”

Meanwhile, a commenter explained the rationale behind the female preference for small TVs succinctly: “big tvs are just a little too mojo dojo casa house.”
Others argued that since they watch so much TV on their phones, tablets and laptops, a small TV feels like an improvement a lot of the time. Mac wasn’t thrilled about that either, however, commenting, “They’ll watch a cinema masterpiece on their MACBOOK AIR and say, ‘I didn’t really like it,’ then they’ll go back to Suits.”
Many people pointed out that while men may have larger TVs, the rest of their home decor often leaves a lot to be desired. Case in point: “Men will have a huge TV, a milk carton to sit on and a blanket used as curtains… so I think we’re just different.”
As someone who primarily watches things on their laptop, I’m with the girls on this one. As Annie put it, “I don’t need to feel like I’m sitting in the first row of a movie theater thanks.”
