The YouTuber Colleen Ballinger, more well-known by her on-screen persona “Miranda Sings,” has been heavily under fire for accusations of child grooming and inappropriate sexual behavior towards minors over the last few weeks.
Ballinger has faced accusations before, when one of her former employees, Adam Mcintyre, published multiple YouTube videos about his experiences with her in 2020. Ballinger made an apology video then, claiming that she hadn’t understood the impact of her jokes.
But now, new information and alleged victims have surfaced, leading Ballinger to once again embark upon an apology tour. Except this time, she decided to do so in the form of a song.
In a video simply titled, “hi,” Colleen addressed the accusations while playing a ukulele.
“My team has strongly advised me to not say what I want to say,” she said. “They never said that I couldn’t sing.”
She goes on to claim that the accusations aren’t based in fact and does little to make it sound like she’s taking accountability.
At one point she sings the lyrics: "Thought you wanted me to take accountability / but that’s not the point of your mob mentality / your goal is to ruin the life of the person you despise / while you dramatize your lies and monetize their demise."
I love how this is the first time anyone in the public consciousness has even thought about Miranda Sings since like 2015 and its because she got outed for grooming fans and decided her response should be to make a ukelele song about the allegations https://t.co/OtalxyWQKY

“I can’t believe you genuinely thought it was a good idea to make a ukulele song out of this,” one viewer commented. They were far from the only person to think so.
YouTubers are famously horrible at apology videos. Considering the subject matter, this one might just be the worst of all time.
This week on twitter has been unimaginable. Shein influencer propaganda, billionaires on a submersible imploding to see the titanic, Miranda Sings 10 minute Ukulele “apology” video, and elon musk’s mom stopping the musk vs. mark zuckerberg fight….. pic.twitter.com/tQW9mulhFT
