The Vikings drafted wide receiver Jordan Addison with the 23rd pick of the first round this year for his blazing speed, but I doubt they expected to see it on public display like this, days before training camp.

The USC product was pulled over at 3 am in St. Paul for driving 140 miles per hour in a Lamborghini Urus SUV; 85 mph over the highway's 55 mph limit. His excuse? His dog was having a medical emergency at home.

"Can’t wait to see this speed translate to the field," @17gamepace joked on Twitter.

Addison was cited for speeding and reckless driving, with the claim about his dog listed on the police report. The Lamborghini had dealer plates.

Addison reported to the Vikings’ training camp on Sunday, though he was held out due to an undisclosed injury. The Vikings stated that they were "gathering additional information" about the incident, but Addison is not expected to face disciplinary action from the team or the NFL.

Addison apologized for his actions in a public statement. His dog's health, however, remains undisclosed.
