The missing F-35 Fighter Jet’s run as the world’s stealthiest aircraft came to a crashing halt on Monday evening after military officials confirmed that the plane, which evaded radars for several hours after going missing over the weekend, was discovered in a remote field in South Carolina.

“Personnel from Joint Base Charleston and Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, in close coordination with local authorities, have located a debris field in Williamsburg County,” read a statement shared to the base’s Facebook page, noting that “the debris was discovered two hours northeast of Joint Base Charleston.”

Described by creator, and notable Pride Month sponsor Lockheed Martin, as “the most lethal, survivable and connected fighter jet in the world,” the roughly $100 million aircraft truly lived up to its promise, flying undetected for hours after a mechanical mishap forced the pilot to eject mid-flight.

Though the exact mishap and the pilot’s identity are still unknown, one thing is certain — Dude, Where’s My Fighter Jet? is already set to be the Iraq War generation’s most iconic stoner flick.
