When it comes to new weapons and strategies, the US Military is in a constant state of research and development.   The Navy has been working on an Electromagnetic Rail Gun for a few years now, and this is one badass "gun".

From missile defence, to ground warfare, and even anti-aircraft capabilities, the "High Velocity Projectile" is one piece of metal you NEVER want to come face to face with.   These projectiles can reach speeds of Mach 7, are low cost, and can be delivered with deadly accuracy.

"Energetic weapons, such as EM railguns, are the future of naval combat," said Rear Adm. Matt Klunder, the chief of naval research. "The U.S. Navy is at the forefront of this game-changing technology."
