Is there a Canada versus U.S. war on the horizon?

Recently, our President announced that he would be imposing tariffs on goods from Mexico and Canada — adding costs to everyday products that will almost surely be immediately passed down to consumers (hooray!).

Understandably, very few people are happy about this. Americans are P.O.’d because shit *already* got too expensive under the Brandon regime, and Canada and Mexico are annoyed because these higher costs run the risk of reducing their real GDP by 3.6 percent and 2 percent respectively, per CBS.

These tariffs are already having a visible impact in Canada — not in products, but in attitude. Some Canadian liquor stores have stopped selling American booze altogether, and politicians are encouraging their citizens to vacation in Canada rather than the United States (good luck with that).

Then, at Sunday’s Toronto Raptors game, people straight up booed the American national anthem, echoing others who had done the same thing at NHL games earlier this weekend.

Doesn’t look great, folks!
