The Saturday night New York Comic Con screening of Violent Night was an early holiday gift for everyone in attendance. The film was screened for the first time ever in front of an audience, and it did not disappoint. If you haven't seen the trailer yet, take a peek.

After a group of carolers set the mood, audience members were treated to a bromance of epic proportion as David Harbour and John Leguizamo took the stage, along with the film's director, Tommy Wirkola.

Clearly it's not your everyday Christmas movie. But somehow it's already become the next holiday classic. Credit to the dynamic duo of writers Pat Casey and Josh Miller, as well as the direction of Wirkola. This holiday fiasco feels like a modern day Die Hard.

The trio along with a star-studded cast including Beverly D'Angelo, Leguizamo, and Harbour all blend classic Christmas themes so eloquently with gore and violence - hence the title - that you can't help but enjoy the film.

When a wealthy Connecticut family all get together for another Christmas Eve full of arguing about money and power, their night gets flipped upside down. A crew of holiday baddies and their leader (Leguizamo) attempt to steal the family fortune.

Sh*t really hits the fan, when Santa (Harbour) ends up trapped in the very same house. And you know full well Santa isn't going to let anyone ruin Christmas. Especially with his 'skull-crushing' history.

With an 'R' rating the movie gives us all of the swearing and one-liners we ever could've wanted out of jolly old Saint Nick. From gore, to laughter, to wholesome tenderness, this movie has a little something for everyone.

Violent Night will be released on December 2nd, 2022.
