During both of the World Wars, military technology made huge leaps and bounds. As the fighting went on, engineers and designers got inspired to find new, horrific ways to kill people and invent weird vehicles to dump soldiers onto the battleground. Even after the war, the funding never went away.
The result of all this is a whole genre of weird, hilarious, bizarre contraptions that could only exist thanks to the ridiculously overfunded programs of the military-industrial complex. They’ve built odd mini tanks, hovercrafts, gun-bikes, useless armor, and massive horns for some reason.
They get so weird and funny, we can only conclude a lot of these inventions have led to a lot of lost wars.
