Baltic Countries’ Ceremony to Ditch Russian Energy Was Really Weird

You guys are running countries, not auditioning for Kraftwerk!


Over the weekend, the Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania unplugged from Russia’s energy grid and joined the European Union’s electrical system. This was a long time coming; ever since Russia invaded Ukraine, countries have tried to distance themselves from the nation — a task made difficult by the fact that they kiiiiinda rely on them for a lot of stuff.


One of the main things that people got from Russia, apart from weapons, was energy. Now, the Baltic states are officially off the Russian grid and on the European one.
