Battleship's Anti-Aircraft Gun Almost Lets Intrusive Thoughts Win Against Airliner
The C-RAM, or Counter-Rocket, Artillery, Mortar System, is an absolutely staggering piece of military technology instrumental in stopping incoming rockets, missiles, and planes. It does so by shooting hundreds if not thousands of rounds in seconds, targeted by AI with precision and speed far beyond what humans are capable of.
With all that in mind, it's obviously crucial that C-RAMs are operated with care, especially in regard to target selection. But this C-RAM on board a battleship almost let its intrusive thoughts win, after locking on to a civilian airliner.
"No, no!" a crew member yells at the gun. Fortunately, it holds its fire.
"They were approximately one line of code away from being turned to scrap metal," @Mirror_VRC commented.
"No no bad C-RAM down boy," Kc joked.
Some commenters insinuated that incidents like this one have resulted in planes going missing over the ocean, like with Malaysia Flight 370, but there is no evidence to support that theory or to suggest that this airliner was in any danger.
Still, if guns could talk, that one wanted to shoot.
"Bro it would be so fast," MustyPack joked. "you wouldn’t even notice please.”
