Cop Calls Kid's Dad to Come Pick Him Up After He Clocks Him at 132 MPH
When Corporal Rittger of the Orange County Sheriff's office in Florida clocked a Toyota Supra at 132 mph, he decided he needed some backup from a higher authority. Not from another policeman, but from the 16 year old driver's dad.
"I need you to come out here and pick up your son," he said to the dad over the phone. "I just clocked your son at 132 miles per hour."
While the father cooperated, Rittger took the time to tell the teen about his transgression, and let him know that had he been 18, "you'd be going to jail for reckless driving."
"Probably the first wholesome police related video I’ve seen in years on Twitter of all places," @nicholasdeorio remarked.
When the father arrived, Rittger told him about a similar case from earlier in his career that resulted in the death of a young driver. Fortunately, the father seemed willing to put an end to his son's driving privileges for the time being.
"Deputy likely saved that kid's life," @TastyMeatBBQ commented. "Maybe not today, but likely."
