Cops Chase Down Drug-Dealing Suspect While on Horseback
Is that why they’ve got horses?
I’ve long questioned the utility of horse cops. While police officers will say that they need them for crowd control, it often feels like the police only have them because they’ve already bought all of the tanks they wanted and “horse” was their last remaining idea. “The whole department has A.K.s now — why not give them ponies, too?”
We’ve already seen horse cops in action when someone *isn’t* allegedly committing a crime. Now, we know how these saddled-up officers respond when someone *is* allegedly committing a crime — in this case, dealing drugs.
Giddy up! Body cam video shows a mounted police officer in Florida encouraging her horse to "get that bad man" while chasing a running suspect.
