Robbers Sprint From Gucci Store With Arms Full of Designer Digs In Viral Daytime Robbery
The only thing better than a five-finger discount? A 90-finger discount.
A group of nine robbers were caught springing from a Gucci boutique in Century City, Calif. on Monday, their arms filled to the brim with G-logo-clad suitcases, backpacks, purses and essentially anything they could grab as onlookers watched in horror, filming the ordeal and presumably calling 911.
Though several elements of their daytime heist are still unclear, including their identities, the value of the stolen goods and how many national titles they won for their high school track team, one thing is certain: The burglars snagged a whole lot of clout with their stolen goods.
Shortly after they sped off in their getaway cars — a red KIA and a white SUV, per the Los Angeles Times — a video of their burglary went viral on social media, garnering more than 18 million views in its first two days on Twitter.
“The security guard winning the idgaf war,” wrote @islandthembo alongside the clip, referencing the officer who barely broke into a trot as the men got away.
But hey, don’t ask us viewers to snitch on these guys. To paraphrase @Buddyhead, we saw nothing happen in this video.
