It doesn’t get more Bay Area than this!
Across the country, infrastructure is crumbling. About 40 percent of our roads are in poor or mediocre condition, and in response, we’ve really done nothing but make our cars bigger and heavier. Go us!
Well, I say “nothing,” but we have done something else: get rid of the drivers. In certain cities in the U.S., self-driving taxis can take you to and from anywhere you want to go — most of the time. Sometimes, they’ll lock you in the back seat and drive you in circles; others, they’ll just get stuck honking at each other.
And on some occasions, as this news report shows, they’ll drive you right into danger!
