Deep in the jungles of Peru is the Shanay-Timpishka, an ancient tributary of the Amazon River with water that's hot enough to boil alive pretty much anything unlucky enough to fall in. It's 4 miles long and its temperature ranges from 113° F to 212° F. Its name means 'boiled by the heat of the sun', but the source of its heat is actually geothermal.
