It was a simpler time.

Back in the day, there was nothing more exciting than seeing the ice cream man come down your street — until, of course, you realized that you didn’t have enough money to actually buy an ice cream.

Like everything else, the price of ice cream only goes up with time, and eventually, it reaches a point that children can no longer afford it with their meager allowances. These 11-year-olds in the 1970s learned this fact, hated it and decided to protest against it.
